Riposte X Levi's Made & Crafted A/W 17
To celebrate the launch of the new Icelandic inspired AW/17 collection from Levi's Made & Crafted we collaborated with a cast of brilliant female creatives to produce a series of works that explored the Icelandic influences of the collection.
Fuelled by fire and ice, Iceland is a tapestry of otherworldly colour and texture. Using these two elements of fire and ice as the root of the project we commissioned visual artist Lucy Hardcastle, producer Nabihah Iqbal and Patternity to create a film, a soundscape and screen-print that reflect and explore these Icelandic influences.

Alchemical Appreciation by Patternity
To bring a hands on element to the project Patternity has created Alchemical Appreciation, a screen-print design that melds the alchemical symbols for fire and ice against the background of dappled volcanic rock. The black ink in the final piece has been created using volcanic ash which gave each of the prints texture and tactility.
The project as a whole explored the deeper influences of the collection and introduced it to our audience in a creative way. It linked the brand's ethos of elevating craft and design with respected female creatives from our community and supported their work.
The whole process was captured in a behind the scenes film which you can watch below. It documents each of the creative processes and tells the story in the words of the women we have collaborated with.
ALDA LAUNCH DINNER AT BOMPAS & PARR
To launch the whole series we invited special guests and press to join us for an Icelandic feast held at the Bompas & Parr workshop. Throughout the evening we served a menu that took guests on a journey to the centre of the earth, starting off with frozen Icelandic inspired dishes through to hot beef cooked on salt beds finishing off with firey cocktails and flambéed desserts.
After dinner we screen Lucy Hardcastle's film and gave the guests an insight into the processes behind the making with a behind the scenes film. The night ended with a huge explosive flavour cloud and guests left with gifts from the new collection.
